The Milwaukee Bucks’ roster still looks largely the same as it did for their title run last year, but they may be eyeing a key upgrade around the fringes.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Saturday that former Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans will be working out for the Bucks in the coming days. Charania adds that the defending champions have one open roster spot left.

Evans, who is now 32, has been out of the league for the last three years. He was banned from the NBA in 2019 after a positive test for “drugs of abuse” but was reinstated by the league earlier this month.

During his last stint in the NBA with the Indiana Pacers, Evans posted 10.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game in a bench role. The Bucks do need another creator since their only meaningful upgrade from last year has been their recent trade for Serge Ibaka. But it remains to be seen how much Evans still has left in the tank (and if he will be able to find his way into the Bucks facility in the first place).
