After spending so many years in mediocrity, Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are finally living up to their full potential. That’s why the All-Star shooting guard claimed he and Karl-Anthony Towns are the NBA’s best duo this season.
Unlike in previous years, the Timberwolves are now playing better, which can be seen in their 105-93 win over the Kevin Durant-led Phoenix Suns . In Game 2 of their series, Jaden McDaniels led his team by posting 25 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley dropped 18 points each, while Edwards and Towns had 15 and 12 points, respectively.
The Suns, on the other hand, were led by Devin Booker’s 20-point performance. Kevin Durant only shot 40 percent from the field to finish the game with 18 points while Bradley Beal tallied 14 points. Jusuf Nurkic had another double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds in the 31 minutes he played on the court.
The win gave Minnesota a two-game lead over a Phoenix Suns team with more All-Stars in it. Even with Booker issuing a challenge to the Timberwolves, his team still came up short against a squad headlined by the duo of Edwards and Towns.

With the Timberwolves finishing the regular season strong and getting a high seed in the playoffs, all eyes are on Edwards and how he has made an impact on the franchise. In an interview with Taylor Rooks posted by NBA on TNT’s official X account, the All-Star guard claimed he and Towns are the best duo in the league right now:
In the 204 games they played together, Edwards is averaging 22.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.0 assists. Meanwhile, Towns notched 23.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in the same stretch he played with Edwards.
Without a doubt, these two stars are a force to be reckoned with whenever they’re together on the court. If they manage to go far in the postseason, Minnesota’s front office will have to think hard before trading one over the other.
