A former Golden State Warriors star is aiming for an NBA return this upcoming season. We've seen veterans returning to the league in the past couple of years, including Carmelo Anthony, Jamal Crawford and Isaiah Thomas.

Although only Melo stayed in the association after getting another shot, these players showed that teams aren't overlooking veterans and can give a chance to whoever can provide good things.

Monta Ellis has noticed this and is asking for a new chance in the league four years after his last stint in the association. He last played for the Indiana Pacers before getting waived in July 2017. According to Alder Almo of Empire Sports Media, Ellis is trying to find his way back to the NBA.

“I believe I still have a lot in my tank. I’ve been trying for a couple of years. I just got nobody take a chance on me, bringing me for training camp to show what I can still do. The way how I walked away from it kind of hinder that a little bit because they didn’t know the mindset I was in, the things that were going on.”

The 35-year-old clarified he's not looking to get a big contract and only wants to play basketball and compete until it's time to hang the shoes.

“I just want a shot. I ain’t asking for a contract to get $5 million, $10 million, or even $1 million. All I’m asking is give me a look. That’s all and let my game speak for itself. I just want an opportunity, a workout, and that’s not the end of the world, that’s not gonna hurt anybody.”

Workouts have helped players get new chances in the league. It remains to be seen if somebody will show interest in Monta. Still, the player is ready to run it back in the association.

Ellis became famous when he stated the Warriors couldn't win with him and Stephen Curry playing together, which led to a trade to the Milwaukee Bucks. Ever since that moment, his career wasn't the same, and now he's out of the league, trying to get another chance to showcase his talents.
