While most players see fear when it comes to the NBA trade deadline, Myles Turner sees opportunity.

The Indiana Pacers center Turner has been one of the most popular subjects of trade rumors ahead of this week’s deadline. One of the teams that Turner has been linked to is the Los Angeles Lakers.

Instagram model Dipika Dutt is among those who have been trying to recruit Turner to the Lakers, even posting videos about him to her nearly 1 million followers on TikTok. Ever the opportunist, Turner replied back by asking Dutt to go to dinner with him instead.

After some negotiating back and forth (in which Turner’s Pacers teammate Malcolm Brogdon even got involved), Dutt finally agreed to go to dinner with Turner if he got 20,000 likes on his TikTok video.

As of the time of writing, Turner has gotten about 18,800 likes on the video, which means he will likely hit the 20,000 necessary to get a date with Dutt.

With less than 24 hours to go before the trade deadline, Turner could stay put in Indiana, he could go to the Lakers, or he could end up with another rumored team. But regardless, Turner is on the verge of turning all these trade rumors into a date, meaning that he wins no matter what.
