Alex Sarr

Center | NBL

Height: 7'1” | Weight: 215 lbs

2024 Draft Age: 19.15

Prospect Profile

Alexandre Sarr is the younger brother of current NBA center Olivier Sarr, standing at 7-foot-1 from France. He’s one of the better big prospects in a class that’s loaded with depth in the frontcourt. The mobile big is extremely skilled and can play either the four or five spot effectively. By the time the night of the 2024 NBA Draft comes around, Sarr will have just turned 19. He has a solid frame for his age which will allow him to add quite a bit of strength and mass in the coming years.

When Sarr catches the ball on the perimeter, he is comfortable putting the ball on the floor or shooting from beyond the arc. This is what makes him unique and a great fit in the modern NBA. While he will need to prove he can knock down triples at an efficient clip, the jumper itself looks smooth for his size. Sarr is also a skilled passer for a big and could end up being more of a playmaker relative to his position.

Overall, the 7-footer is almost built like a wing with frontcourt size. The way he’s able to move is extremely fluid which will help on both ends. Defensively, this should allow him to be versatile and switchable. Sarr needs to add strength and weight without losing mobility, but there’s a real chance he can defend three positions at the next level.

From Overtime Elite to the NBL, teams should have a good feel for Sarr’s game given the wide variety of scenarios he will have played in by draft night. He will have experience in the run-and-gun style of play in OTE and a more physical style against adults now in NBL. He’s also experienced in FIBA play, most recently participating in the 2023 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup.

Sarr’s father played professionally in the NBA system, so it’s clear he has the pedigree along with his brother. Depending on how this season goes in the NBL, he will have a chance to be a quick riser with his skillset.
