NBA props for Friday, Feb. 2: Hurry to back Murray

Happy Friday! We are heading into our first weekend without NFL football so we need to fill up the time somehow. Tonight in the NBA we have a pretty full schedule with 10 games to choose from.

Last night we lost two bets with Evan Mobley and OG Anunoby not suiting up for their teams (that has never happened before). As a result, we posted a 1-1 record with a very small profit.

Results to Date: 767-131, -241.3 Units  (points for honesty, right?)

NBA Props for Friday, Feb. 2

Trae Young Leading Scorer +330

The Hawks are hosting the Suns tonight. Yes, the Suns are blessed with explosive scorers like Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, but Young is no slouch in the scoring department and it is not like the Suns hack lockdown defenders. He has scored 30+ in three of the last six games and when he does so again he has a great chance to be the game leader. Looking for that chunk payoff.

Keegan Murray Over 2.5 Three Pointers (+130)

The second-year gunner is off a big game, he scored 33 points the last time out. He is still the third option for defenses though with Fox and Sabonis at the top of their games. He takes a good volume of shots from deep and often has games where he makes a number of them, seven the last time out. This game is going to have a good pace and the opportunity will be there to make a few, as he has in four of the last 10.

Wendell Carter Jr. more rebounds than Karl-Anthony Towns (+140)

KAT has his moments but he is not a very consistent rebounder and this year he is not even averaging 9 rpg for the season. That is more than Carter (hence the payoff) but I am looking for Orlando's biggest big man to step up in this spot. I am looking for a max minutes opportunity for Carter against the size of Minnesota.

Brandin Podziemski over 10.5 Points (+120) Alt Line

The Warriors are tinkering and one of the ways is with their surprising rookie. They are putting him in the starting lineup now and when he has started we get a little bump in his scoring to over 11 ppg, which is why I like this alt line. Also the opponent tonight is Memphis, hardly a daunting challenge. Golden State is a significant favorite but I do not worry about the rookie's minutes.
