NBA Props for Monday, Feb. 5: Upset watch in Cleveland

We closed the week with a 2-2 day and a little bit of profit taking on Friday. Trae Young was leading that Hawks game in scoring at the half so I thought we might have a nice windfall, but Kevin Durant clipped him in the end.

No NFL this past weekend so the dominating story was the injury to Joel Embiid. That is overshadowing the fact that some teams are on some great hot streaks right now: I see you, Cavs and Clippers.

Tonight there are six games on the NBA schedule. I have my eye on the Kings in Cleveland. I think there could be an upset there.

Results to Date: 79-133, -235.3 Units  (points for honesty, right?)

NBA Props for Monday, Feb. 5

Paul George Over 5.5 Rebounds (+120)

The price is the thing that caught my eye here. This is right at season averages so getting that +120. The Clippers are on the road and playing Atlanta should be a competitive spot. They did play last night, but when George plays with no rest his production is about the same even though his minutes might drop.

Domantas Sabonis Over 18.5 Points (+100) Alt Line

I was tempted to go higher to get a better payoff but this met the criteria. I am not even sure why it is an alt line, given that this is under his regular scoring output for the season. Also, when he has one day of rest he scored the most ... 21 ppg in that scenario. He also tends to score more on the road.

Kevin Huerter Over 2.5 Threes (+145)

The Kings are at Cleveland tonight in an underrated midseason matchup. I think Huerter can shine with his shooting; he has made at least three from deep six times in the past 10 games. His volume is always good as Sacramento knows where their shots are coming from. He was 6-for-9 the last time these teams played.

Jakob Poeltl Over 8.5 Rebounds (+110)

The Raptors just played last night, double OT too, which has me a little worried in this spot. However, Poeltl is just back from injury so his legs should actually be pretty fresh. He grabbed 12 rebounds in 33 minutes so as long as they give him his minutes we should be fine. They will need to against former Raptor Jonas Valanciunas
