The Charlotte Hornets have a bright future currently. They have rookie sensation LaMelo Ball, whose eye for spectacular passes and overall great season helped him win the Rookie of the Year award. However, despite the team having a lot of potential, they were unable to make a run to the playoffs, losing to the Indiana Pacers in the play-in tournament.

One of the areas of need for the Charlotte Hornets is the center position. It is clear that the Hornets could use a great interior finisher and rim protector to improve on both ends of the court. Kevin O'Connor's mock draft revealed that league sources connect the Hornets with a variety of names around the league the center position, one of which is Myles Turner. O'Connor adds that there is also the possibility that they end up drafting a center.

The Hornets are looking to add a center, possibly a veteran. League sources connect them to Myles Turner, Richaun Holmes, or Nerlens Noel. But there are options in the draft, too.

Richaun Holmes and Nerlens Noel are both great rim protectors and rebounders on the defensive end while also having nice touch around the paint on the offensive end. Richaun Holmes in particular shined as a starter this season, averaging 14.2 PPG and 8.3 RPG this season, while also shooting an efficient 63.7% from the field.

Myles Turner isn't the best center when it comes to rebounding, but his combination of rim protection and shooting makes him a player that could fit on a lot of contenders. Turner averaged 3.4 BPG this season while also shooting 33.5% from beyond the arc as a center. While his 3PT shooting percentage wouldn't be anything special if he was a guard, it is a solid enough percentage for a center. Kevin O'Connor's statement backs up the prior reports that suggest the Hornets are interested in Turner.

It remains to be seen which center the Charlotte Hornets will target via trade or free agency, but if O'Connor is right, then they have a big man as their priority.
