NBA says Tyler Herro traveled on his game-winner
The NBA confirmed that Tyler Herro traveled before his game-winning shot Wednesday night. That doesn't help the Sacramento Kings.
For close games, the NBA releases a play-by-play report evaluating all the calls at the end of the game. The Kings-Heat report confirmed that all the calls and non-calls were correct - except the biggest non-call of them all, on Herro's three-pointer with 1.8 seconds left.
The report stated that "when [Herro] moves his right foot, he establishes his left foot as his pivot foot, which he then lifts and replaces to the floor before taking his jump shot." That means it should have been a travel and Sacramento's ball with a tie game and a few seconds remaining. Instead, Sacramento threw a wild pass to Domantas Sabonis, who was called for an offensive foul. The report confirmed that one was a correct call.
Is this comforting to the Kings? Not really. It's still a loss, and arguably makes them feel worse to know that the NBA confirmed they got robbed. They fell to 2-5, while the Heat improved to 4-5 after a back-to-back Northern California sweep of the Warriors and Kings.
