NBA teams want 2020 draft no sooner than August
While the 2020 NFL Draft has not been pushed back due to the coronavirus, it seems maybe the NBA will push back its June 25 draft date, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
If the NBA draft will be no sooner than August, the organizations will have more time to scout players and properly evaluate them via workouts and in-person interviews.
There are currently no plans for the NBA to hold a virtual draft similar to the NFL.
The NBA paused the season last month due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and there are no immediate plans or answers for when, or if, the 2020 campaign will resume.
Latest mock drafts have Georgia's Anthony Edwards, Israeli star Deni Avdija, Lonzo Ball's younger brother LaMelo Ball, Dayton's Obi Toppin and Memphis' James Wiseman going in the top five, but they may have to wait a bit longer for their fate to be determined if the NBA does in fact push back the date of the draft.
