Nets' Joe Harris to undergo ankle surgery, out four to eight weeks

Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Joe Harris has been out of the lineup since he injured his left ankle in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Nov. 14, missing six consecutive games.

Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski (h/t Ohm Youngmisuk), Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports, Harris' agent, says the 30-year-old is having surgery to repair the issue and will remain out of action for an additional four to eight weeks. Bartelstein added he's hopeful Harris will be back on the court closer to four weeks than eight. 

"He is going to have a scope and then we'll see what that means once they've had the procedure," Nets head coach Steve Nash said of Harris on Monday ahead of Tuesday's game against the New York Knicks. "We think this is a really positive thing that can put this situation behind him long term rather than risking reoccurrences or uncertainty with the injury." 

Nash continued: "There's a little bone particle in there. Just the uncertainty of it, just better to take it out. We thought that it would potentially sort itself out because it's been there, but it's not. Hopefully that's the end of it." 

Brooklyn fell to 14-6 on the campaign via Saturday's 113-107 loss to the Phoenix Suns. Harris is averaging 11.3 points, four rebounds and one assist per game this season.
