The sprained right knee MCL suffered by Nets forward Kevin Durant is expected to cost him a month, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The Nets announced Monday that Durant will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Durant missed six weeks with a sprained MCL suffered almost exactly a year ago, though this one isn’t considered quite as severe.
His latest injury came in Sunday’s win over the Heat after Miami guard/forward Jimmy Butler landed on Durant’s knee, forcing him to exit in the third quarter.
Just before falling into Durant, Butler had his shot blocked by Nets guard Ben Simmons. Durant was on the court for two more possessions before going back to the locker room.
Durant, 34, is averaging 30.0 points on 56 percent shooting, along with 6.8 rebounds and a league-best 94 percent on free throws.
The Nets (27-13) may be the hottest team in the league, having won nine of 10 and bursting to second place in both the Atlantic Division and the Eastern Conference, trailing only the Celtics.
