Nets' Kyrie Irving not vaccinated against COVID-19?

The NBA has said all of its personnel, including players, must follow laws in cities such as New York and San Francisco that say individuals need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter home arenas for practices and games unless they obtain an approved medical or religious exemption.

Earlier this week, Nets general manager Sean Marks raised eyes when he admitted some players would be "missing" from practice if Brooklyn needed to prepare for a game. Yaron Weitzman of Fox Sports now reports Nets All-Star guard Kyrie Irving has not yet received one of the safe and available vaccine shots.

Irving's camp and the Nets declined to officially comment on his vaccination status. Assuming Weitzman's story is correct, it's unknown if Irving plans to get vaccinated or has obtained an authorized exemption that would allow him to play in New York City and San Francisco.

"Obviously I can't get into details for a variety of reasons, whether it's HIPAA violations or whoever it may be, [but] I think we all understand what's at stake and we've had very candid conversations," Marks said Tuesday about talks he's had with his squad about getting vaccinated. Per Tim Bontemps of ESPN, Marks added issues about player eligibilities should be resolved before the regular season tips off next month.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins also remains unvaccinated. Meanwhile, league insider Shams Charania tweeted that 90% of NBA players are considered fully vaccinated:
