Nets: No timetable for Kyrie Irving's return

Fans of the Brooklyn Nets anxious to see superstar guard Kyrie Irving back with the team will have to keep on waiting for news until further notice.

Nets general manager Sean Marks confirmed via a Tuesday statement that Irving remains out due to personal reasons. There is currently no finalized date for when the enigmatic one-time NBA champion will play again.

Marks added that the club is aware of a video that appears to show Irving maskless and attending a recent family gathering. The Nets and NBA are reviewing the matter to determine if Irving violated the league's health and safety protocols. He could face a fine from either the club or the Association upon his return.

Irving first stepped away from the Nets ahead of last Thursday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers, roughly 24 hours after supporters of President Donald Trump took part in a violent riot at the U.S. Capitol. The 28-year-old also missed contests versus the Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder and won't play against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.

Earlier on Tuesday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews reported Irving will remain unavailable for Wednesday's clash at the New York Knicks and Saturday's home game against the Orlando Magic. Brooklyn faces the Milwaukee Bucks next Monday.

It's been widely reported that Irving's continued absence is related to the riot at the Capitol. He hasn't yet publicly addressed his status.
