Nets reportedly grant Kyrie Irving permission to seek sign-and-trade partners

Last week, it was initially reported that Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets were "at impassse" in talks about his future with the organization. A few days later, things seemed to be taking a turn for the positive, when multiple insiders indicated that they expected the seven-time All-Star to stay put in The Big Apple.

Now, it looks like the pendulum has swung yet again.

Not only could Irving's days with the Nets be numbered, but there could be a specific team he is eyeing next, and it's a whopper.

ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski followed up the above reporting with some additional clarity on the Irving situation.

The former No. 1 overall pick has a Wednesday deadline on his $36.9 million player option for the 2022-2023 season.
