Nets' Spencer Dinwiddie plans to decline $12.3 million option to become free agent

The news comes after the Nets were eliminated from the playoffs with a 115-111 Game 7 overtime loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night. 

Dinwiddie has not played since the third game of the regular season almost six months ago after partially tearing the ACL in his right knee. 

The 28-year-old averaged 6.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and three assists per game in the three contests he played. He had a career year during the 2019-20 campaign, averaging 20.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds in 64 games for the Nets. 

It's unclear which teams might be interested in adding Dinwiddie this offseason. It's also uncertain what kind of contract he's looking for.
