Injuries have been a major hurdle for the New York Knicks throughout the 2023-24 NBA campaign. In the regular season, several key players missed large chunks of time as Mitchell Robinson, Julius Randle and OG Anunoby all missed several weeks of action.

While Robinson and Anunoby were eventually able to return, Randle wasn’t as fortunate. The separated shoulder he suffered on January 27th against the Miami Heat eventually required surgery, ending his season prematurely.

Unfortunately for the Knicks, the hits haven’t stopped during the 2024 NBA Playoffs. Their first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers has been very physical and at times reckless and dirty.

Because of that, their injury report is quite lengthy again. Joining Randle on the sidelines for Game 5 at Madison Square Garden will be forward Bojan Bogdanovic. He was involved in a collision with Nicolas Batum and injured his foot.

Already dealing with a wrist injury that may require surgery in the offseason, Bogdanovic could use some rest. On a more positive note, the Knicks have listed Robinson as questionable with his left ankle injury.

A lot of eyes were on the Flagrant-1 foul Joel Embiid committed on him in Game 3, yanking on his ankle as he was airborne for a dunk attempt. He was unable to play in the second half of that game and was absent from Game 4.

Star point guard Jalen Brunson was also listed on the injury report. He is dealing with a right knee contusion but is probable for Game 5 tonight. It will take more than a bruise to keep him out of the lineup.

New York has a chance to close out Philadelphia at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night as they head into Game 5 with a 3-1 lead. It would be a major accomplishment for the Knicks, as some extra time off to rest would do their roster some good.
