New York Knicks mentor Tom Thibodeau is a two-time NBA Coach of the Year winner. He should at least be in the running for a third one this year if you ask Knicks star Josh Hart, who voiced out his disappointment over Thibs getting snubbed out of the top three finalists for the award in the 2023-24 NBA season.

“50 wins, 2nd seed with an injuried roster for half the season and not a Coach Of The Year candidate,” Hart posted on X after learning that Thibodeau did not make the final cut.

New York Knicks Head Coach Tom Thibodeau Has Done A Brilliant Job This Season

Despite not being a COTY finalist, there is no denying that Thibodeau has been fantastic on the sidelines for the Knicks, who, as mentioned by Hart, secured the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 50-32 record. Not many saw that coming, especially with the Knicks missing key players for several games, including Julius Randle, who is done for the remainder of the campaign.

There will always be dissent with regard to who should be included or not included on such lists, but in any case,  each of the three finalists for the coaching award seems deserving of the honor. They are Mark Daigneault of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chris Finch of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Jamahl Mosley of the Orlando Magic.

Fans react to Tom Thibodeau CTOY Snub

“Tom Thibodeau had an incredible season and has a very strong case for Coach of the Year,” said X user
@iHateShaun.

“Tom Thibodeau’s not a coach of the year candidate. Jalen Brunson is not an MVP candidate. Dante DiVincenzo is not a most improved player candidate (because of a bulls--- technicality). When the Knicks win it all it’s going to be the ultimate tale of letting your game talk,” posted @budalichious.

“Meanwhile the Knicks and coach Thibs finished with a better record than 2 of these coaches and dealt with more injuries than 2 of these teams!!!” reacted @NYCeaseleo.
