Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon will miss time after suffering significant injuries from a dog bite on Monday.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Gordon suffered lacerations to his face and right hand from serious dog bites. He required 21 stitches, and while he is in good condition, the injuries will take some time to heal.

Charania notes that the injury happened on Monday. Whatever took place happened after the Nuggets’ Christmas Day game against Golden State, as he played 32 minutes in Denver’s 120-114 win.

Gordon is not the first pro athlete to suffer a dog bite injury, but his sounds particularly severe, and will cost him a significant amount of time. The Nuggets appear confident that he will be able to make a full recovery and be able to return this season, which is good news for both him and the organization.
