Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry at the 2022 ESPY Awards Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Stephen Curry is the greatest Golden State Warriors player in franchise history.

Barring something catastrophic happening, he will likely end his career with the same organization it started with.

That said, if the opportunity ever presented itself, there is one team he would be willing to play for that isn’t based in The Bay.

This week Curry received a key from Charlotte. During the ceremony, he revealed the only non-Warriors team he would ever consider playing for.

“I always said I wanted to finish my career at Golden State because of how much it means to me, the experiences and the teammates and the journey that we’ve been on,” Curry said during his acceptance speech. “People always say, ‘Do you wanna play one year for the Hornets and come back?’”

Understandably, Charlotte fans went nuts.

“No, no, I’m not breaking any news. I’m not making any promises,” Curry said. “All I would say is if there was a team I did wanna play for that wasn’t the Warriors, that would be it.”

This has been a crazy summer for Curry. Between him and Ayesha running wild and the one-of-a-kind gift he got from Snoop Dogg – he has been on cloud nine.

If anyone deserves it, given what he has been through over the last few years, it’s definitely him.

Will he ever play for a team other than the Warriors? Probably not.

Is it fun thinking of him in a Hornets uniform, though?

Absolutely.
