Orlando mayor responds to LeBron James after Lakers star joked NBA bubble gave him PTSD

Last year's NBA playoffs were challenging for a lot of players, specifically because they had to compete in an isolated bubble at the Walt Disney World Resort.

The Los Angeles Lakers, who won the 2020 title, were one of two teams to spend the most time in the bubble. LeBron James recently joked on an episode of HBO's "The Shop" that he has PTSD because of the bubble. The Lakers star also said it's one of the reasons he hasn't taken his daughter to Disney World yet.

"You gotta understand anytime I hear Orlando right now, I get PTSD," James said.

James also said he would never join the Orlando Magic in free agency and jokingly suggested he would retire if traded there.

Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer responded to James via social media on Saturday, inviting him out to lunch the next time he's in the city.

Like many players, James said that the Orlando bubble experience was a mental challenge because of the isolation.

Hopefully players won't ever have to play in a bubble again, but if they do, at least they'll be prepared for the hardships that come along with it.
