Our favorite bets to win the NBA 3-Point Contest

When betting on any sport's All-Star festivities, it's best to do so at a lower wager size than you might on a typical game's spread or a prop pick. With that being said, at its core, sports betting can be fun, and that's what we'll aim to do here with our two three-point contest picks.

I for one have had some success in this event, picking a winner in three of the last six seasons. Some of that is most definitely due to sheer dumb luck, but by looking down the numbers, you can at least load up a pick or two to feel good about. We have just the ticket there, with two selections at +700 or greater.

Karl-Anthony Towns (+700 FanDuel)

You may be surprised to know that Minnesota center Karl-Anthony Towns has the 12th-best three-point percentage in the NBA this season, shooting 5.1 threes per game.

KAT won this event two years ago thanks to some of his long-range hits that are worth three points (normal balls are worth one, money balls worth two, and "Starry" Balls worth three).

Towns should be able to call on that experience, and for good measure, though it likely matters very little, the big man has had success shooting in the Pacers' arena where this event is being held. Towns's career three-point percentage in Indiana is 41%, second-best among Saturday's field.

Jalen Brunson (+750 FD)

Speaking of strong three-point percentages in Indiana, Brunson tops the group here with a 44% shooting percentage from long range when he visits the Pacers. Again, this is likely silly, but I for one looked at these numbers two years ago. That day, it showed us that Towns shot like crazy from deep in games played in Cleveland, and as we mentioned, he won that night.

Brunson has been a big reason why the New York Knicks have been so good this season, and his 41.1% 3P% is a respectable number heading into this event. As one of the longer-odds favorites, we like Brunson to be in the mix and deliver some value.
