Pacers C Myles Turner suffers stress fracture in foot, out at least two weeks

The NBA's current leader in blocks per game missed just his second contest of the season on Monday, and it now appears he'll be out for a significant portion of the second half of the season.

Turner, not only one of the NBA's premier defenders, has been subject to rampant trade rumors this season, with the Pacers currently well out of playoff contention at 15-29.

Turner was selected by the Pacers with the 11th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, and in his first season, averaged 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 22.8 minutes per game across 60 contests, earning second-team All-Rookie honors in the process. The former Texas Longhorn set career highs in points (14.5), rebounds (7.3) and minutes per game (31.4), as well as games played (81) during the 2016-2017 campaign and shot a career-best 51.1% from the field and 80.9% from the free throw line.

The 25-year-old's numbers dropped slightly the next year, but he bounced back to lead the NBA in blocks per contest for the first time during the 2018-2019 season with 2.7 swats per tilt. In 47 games last season, Turner produced a career-high, NBA-best 3.4 blocks per game.

Turner is currently averaging 12.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and a league-leading 2.8 blocks per game through 42 contests.
