Patrick Ewing says his Olympic gold medals, championship ring stolen

Basketball Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing revealed some shocking news Tuesday... his two Olympic gold medals and NCAA championship ring were stolen.

"My house got broken into in New York, and at one point they stole my medals," Ewing said on "The Dan Patrick Show," according to ESPN. "So I called Jerry Colangelo [former USA Basketball chairman], and he was great to be able to get me two replacement medals."

Ewing, a member of the 1984 and 1992 gold medal-winning USA squads said he was able to get his 1984 NCAA championship ring back after he found out someone was trying to sell it on eBay.

The former New York Knick was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008, and Tuesday was the first time he discussed the incident of his most valuable possessions being stolen.

Ewing, an 11-time All-Star, averaged 21.0 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while playing for a combination of the Knicks, Seattle SuperSonics and Orlando Magic.
