The New Orleans Pelicans intend to bring in Croatian center Karlo Matkovic, according to Dario Skerletic of Sportando.

Matkovic, 22, is 6-foot-10 and just left Croatian club Cedevita Olimpija. He was originally selected by New Orleans with the No. 52 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

He decided to remain in Europe for all of last season and much of this one, compiling averages of 15.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks between ABA Liga and Eurocup.

It was not reported what type of deal Matkovic will receive from the Pelicans, though it likely comes with some guarantees if he’s leaving Croatia.

New Orleans (26-19) entered Saturday night tied with the Phoenix Suns for sixth place in the Western Conference.
