PG Kendrick Nunn joining Lakers on two-year, $10 million deal

Point guard Kendrick Nunn was allowed to hit free agency after the Miami Heat pulled their qualifying offer on the 26-year-old.

Nunn didn't have to think about his future for long.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Tuesday that Nunn has agreed to join the Los Angeles Lakers via a two-year contract worth $10 million. Wojnarowski added that Nunn gave the Lakers a discount so that he can pursue winning a championship alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis:

The Nunn news dropped hours after Wojnarowski (h/t Dave McMenamin) reported that both Carmelo Anthony and Malik Monk were signing with the Lakers.

Nunn averaged 14.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game with the Heat during the 2020-21 season and now joins a contender that's been quite busy since the start of free agency. As Shaun Powell noted for the NBA's website, the Lakers have also added Russell Westbrook, Trevor Ariza, Dwight Howard, and Wayne Ellington.
