It’s not a good time for Philadelphia 76ers fans. Their team is down two games to nil to Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks after a painful 104-101 loss at Madison Square Garden on Monday night. Despite back-to-back defeats at the hands of the Knicks, Sixers star big man and reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Joel Embiid still believes the series will conclude with his team on top.

Joel Embiid Predicts Philadelphia 76ers Will Win Knicks Series Despite 0-2 Hole

After the game, a seemingly dejected Embiid found the strength to make a bold declaration in front of reporters in the locker room.

“We should be 2-0, so yeah, we’re good. We’re gonna win this series, we’re gonna win this,” Embiid said. “We know what we gotta fix. We did a better job today, so we’re gonna fix it. But we’re the better team. We’re gonna keep fighting.”

Embiid put up a solid effort in Game 2, as he finished with 34 points to go with 10 rebounds and six assists. However, he shot just  12/29 from the floor in 39 minutes. Tyrese Maxey, meanwhile, led the 76ers with 35 points on 12/22 shooting.

After two games in the series, the 76ers have yet to figure out the Knicks. Perhaps playing in front of their home crowd in Games 3 and 4 on Thursday and Sunday, respectively, will give Embiid and company the spark they desperately need in order to keep the Knicks from running away with the series.
