On Thursday evening, the Phoenix Suns will host the Utah Jazz in Arizona.
Before the game, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that the Suns are finishing up a trade to acquire Royce O'Neale from the Brooklyn Nets.
Via Charania: "Brooklyn is finalizing a trade sending Royce O’Neale to Phoenix for salaries and three second-round picks, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium."
O'Neale has played in 49 games and is averaging 7.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest while shooting 38.8% from the field and 36.6% from the three-point range.
In addition to Brooklyn, he has also spent time with the Utah Jazz.
Right now, the Suns are the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 30-21 record in 51 games.
They are 7-3 over their last ten games and are in the middle of a two-game winning streak.
The Suns have one of the best rosters in the league led by Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
Adding a player like O'Neale gives them depth that could end up being vital in a playoff series.
