It was reported by NBA insider Chris Haynes that the Phoenix Suns will be including former Golden State Warriors player Quinndary Weatherspoon in one of their upcoming workouts. This will likely be for an opportunity to earn a spot on Phoenix's Summer League team, or perhaps a training camp invite.

Haynes reported that Stanley Johnson, Jabari Parker, and Chasson Randle will also be be attending this workout for Phoenix. Johnson and Parker have the most NBA experience of the group, while Randle and especially Weatherspoon have more limited time at the NBA level.

Weatherspoon last played NBA basketball in 2022 for the Warriors, appearing in 11 games for Golden State in the 2021-22 season, and spending most of that year in the G-League. Appearing in 20 games for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the 2021-22 season, Weatherspoon averaged 25.3 PPG, 6.7 RPG, and 3.1 APG. The 6'4" guard shot an efficient 52.3% from the field in those games as well, but did not have much success from deep, converting on just 28.2% of his three-point shots on 3.9 attempt per game.

At 26 years old, Weatherspoon spent last season in China, and is hoping for an opportunity to get a shot somewhere in the NBA next season. For now, his next opportunity will be this upcoming workout with the Phoenix Suns.
