PJ Washington is 4-0 with the Dallas Mavericks . The forward, who began his career with the Charlotte Hornets, is enjoying being on a winning team for the first time in the NBA. 

After the Mavericks beat the Phoenix Suns last night (2/22) at home, Washington had a funny response to being on a four-game winning streak. 

The Mavericks have defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, Washington Wizards, San Antonio Spurs and Suns since acquiring Washington from the Hornets. Overall, Dallas is on a seven-game winning streak. 

Washington is averaging 9.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.5 blocks with the Mavericks while shooting 40.5% from the field, 22.2% from beyond the arc and 50.0% from the free-throw line. He has a plus-minus of +15.5.

The Mavericks are 33-23. They are in sixth place in the Western Conference standings. 

Washington is averaging 13.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists on the season with the Hornets and Mavericks. The Kentucky product is shooting 44.3% overall, 31.7% from 3 and 69.6% from the foul line. 

The Hornets drafted Washington with the 12th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Washington is making $16.8 million this season. He signed a three-year, $46.5 million contract with Charlotte last offseason. 

The 25-year-old Washington has career averages of 12.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists with the Hornets and Mavericks. All signs point toward the Louisville native playing in the postseason for the first time in his career this year. 

The Mavericks missed the playoffs last season. They look like a completely different team this year. Dallas is seventh in the NBA in points per game and 18th in points per game allowed.
