Moses Brown is coming off a year where he played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets.
The former UCLA star appeared in 36 regular season games and averaged 4.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 63.5% from the field.
This summer, Brown became a free agent, and he has now officially signed with the Portland Trail Blazers.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news on August 21.
Via Wojnarowski on August 21 : "Free agent center Moses Brown is signing a partially guaranteed one-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, sources tell ESPN."
Brown initially went undrafted in 2019, but played nine games during his rookie season with Portland.
In addition to the Trail Blazers, Nets and Clippers, he has also spent time with the Dallas Mavericks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Oklahoma City Thunder over four seasons.
His career averages are 5.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest while shooting 57.1% from the field in 128 regular season games.
At just 23-years-old, Brown has the potential to be a good rotational center in the NBA, so this could end up being a good move by the Trail Blazers.
The Trail Blazers have a talented roster, but the franchise has missed the NBA playoffs for two straight seasons.
This summer, they drafted Scoot Henderson with the third pick in the 2023 Draft, and the future of superstar point guard Damian Lillard remains uncertain.
Therefore, the franchise could be headed toward a significant rebuild, and adding players like Brown to develop makes the most sense.
