According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Toronto Raptors have signed Kelly Olynyk to a two-year, $26 million extension.

Olynyk is in the final year of his contract deal. He was slated to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

The Raptors acquired Olynyk from the Utah Jazz on February 8. Olynyk was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario.

In nine games with the Raptors, Olynyk is averaging 9.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.6 blocks while shooting 46.0% from the field, 26.3% from beyond the arc and 85.2% from the free-throw line.

The Raptors are 23-38 on the season. They are in 12th place in the Eastern Conference standings. Toronto will miss the playoffs this year for the second straight campaign.

Olynyk has career averages of 10.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks with the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Jazz and Raptors. He was the 13th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft out of Gonzaga.

The Golden State Warriors and Rockets tried to acquire Olynyk from the Jazz at the trade deadline.
