Kendrick Nunn is coming off a year where he played for the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers.
The 28-year-old averaged 7.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 42.4% from the field and 35.4% from the three-point range in 71 regular season games.
This summer, Nunn became a free agent, and he still remains available to be signed by any team in the league.
During his rookie season (2019-20), Nunn was among the best players in the NBA when he averaged 15.3 points per contest for the Miami Heat.
He played one more season for the Heat before missing the entire 2021-22 season with an injury.
Unfortunately, (last season) Nunn was unable to have the same success as he did during his rookie year, but he is still a capable role player in the prime of his career.
Therefore, it's surprising that he remains available with the preseason less than a month away.
At this point, Nunn could likely be signed for a veteran's minimum deal, which would provide no risk for a contending team to bring him into their training camp.
Over three seasons, he has career averages of 12.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 45.1% from the field and 36.2% from the three-point range in 193 regular season games (he has also appeared in 19 NBA playoff games).
As for the Wizards (whom Nunn finished the 2022-23 season with), they have missed the NBA playoffs for two straight years.
They are coming off a season where they were the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 37-45 record.
However, the Wizards will have a much different roster next season (after trading away Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis).
