Romeo Langford is coming off a year where he played in 43 regular season games for the San Antonio Spurs.
The 23-year-old averaged 6.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 46.7% from the field and 26.2% from the three-point range.
This summer, Langford became a free agent, and the Utah Jazz recently announced that they have signed him.
Via Jeremy Rincon on August 30 : "The Utah Jazz have signed guard Taevion Kinsey (tay-VEE-on), guard/forward Romeo Langford, and center Nick Ongenda (on-GEN-duh). Per team policy, terms of the deals were not released."
Coming out of high school, Langford was ranked by ESPN as the fifth-best player in the class of 2018.
He played one season of college basketball for the Indiana Hoosiers and was the 14th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics.
Langford has only played for the Celtics and Spurs, and over four seasons, he has career averages of 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 43.0% from the field and 28.8% from the three-point range in 141 regular season games (he has also appeared in 11 NBA playoff games with the Celtics).
As for the Jazz, they are coming off a year where they were the 12th seed in the Western Conference with a 37-45.
Last summer, the team traded away franchise cornerstones Rudy Gobert ( Minnesota Timberwolves) and Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), so they entered a rebuilding mode.
This past year was the first time the Jazz missed the NBA playoffs since the 2016 season.
