Report: 76ers expected to have 'multiple players' miss time due to contact tracing
Philadelphia 76ers guard Seth Curry reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 before the start of the team's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.
The team didn't learn of the positive test until after the game started, and Curry was sitting on the bench throughout the first quarter, coming into contact with multiple players and staff members.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Sixers are expected to have multiple players miss time due to contact tracing and are still waiting for the results of Friday's COVID-19 testing.
It's unclear which players beyond Curry will miss time, though it's likely Joel Embiid will be required to isolate after sitting right next to the 30-year-old on the bench. Assistant coach Sam Cassell also had contact with Curry.
The 76ers are scheduled to host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday and that game won't be in jeopardy unless more players or staff members test positive for the virus before then.
Curry is in the midst of a career-best season, averaging 17 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 60.3% from the field and 59.5% from deep.
