Report: 76ers guard Seth Curry tests positive for COVID-19

The Philadelphia 76ers fell to the Kyrie Irving-less Brooklyn Nets 122-109 on Thursday night. Right now, the loss is the least of their problems.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, 76ers guard Seth Curry returned a positive COVID-19 test before the start of Philadelphia's matchup against Brooklyn. As a result, the team stayed in New York overnight and will conduct contact tracing on Friday.

Curry did not play on Thursday due to left ankle soreness, though he was on the bench throughout the first quarter before the 76ers were made aware of his positive test. Wojnarowski reports he was wearing a mask and sitting next to Joel Embiid and assistant coach Sam Cassell.

The 76ers are scheduled to host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday and that game won't be in jeopardy unless more players or staff members test positive for the virus before then.

Curry is in the midst of a career-best season, averaging 17 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 60.3% from the field and 59.5% from deep.
