Report: 76ers turned down Pacers' trade offer for Ben Simmons centered on Malcolm Brogdon

Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons could be traded this offseason after a disappointing performance in the 2021 NBA playoffs. However, it's going to take a haul for Philly to even consider breaking up Simmons and Joel Embiid.

According to Bleacher Report's Jason Dumas, the Sixers recently turned down an offer from the Indiana Pacers that included Malcolm Brogdon and a first-round pick.

Although the 76ers continue to turn down offers, trading Simmons is in no way off the table for President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey as the 24-year-old's scoring woes are a serious concern.

It's interesting, though, that Philly passed on the opportunity to land Brogdon. The Pacers guard was a Sixers target during the offseason when they signed Al Horford, and he would be a solid fit next to Embiid and Tobias Harris.

Brogdon averaged 21.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game this season while shooting 45.3% from the field and 38.8% from deep. His offensive numbers were better than Simmons', but it appears the Sixers want more in any potential deal for their defensive stalwart.

Philadelphia reportedly wants multiple future first-round picks in exchange for Simmons, and that's something many teams won't be willing to consider this summer as the Australian looks to work out his scoring issues.

The Simmons saga will undoubtedly be one to keep an eye on this offseason, especially as the end of the season nears and the NBA Draft approaches.
