Report: Bronny James not looking to force playing with father in NBA

It's no secret that star LeBron James hopes to one day share an NBA court with son, Bronny, as teammates. Though, it's far from a sure thing or a must if you're the younger James.

On Saturday, before James recorded historic point No. 40,000 against the Denver Nuggets, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski shared details on the situation from super agent Rich Paul, who will likely represent Bronny.

"Here's one thing that won't be a consideration — the idea that he needs to play with LeBron James, be on the same roster, play with him on the Lakers," Wojnarowski said. "As Rich Paul said to me, 'If it organically happened, LeBron would be head over heels to play with Bronny,' but — 'LeBron wants Bronny to be his own man.'"

The speculation on Bronny's future is moot for the moment since he's yet to decide whether to jump to the NBA or stay another year at USC. According to Paul, he's still debating, and it has nothing to do with where he might go in the draft.

"Bronny James will be far less interested in how high he will be picked, but is the right team interested? The right developmental situation for him — perhaps later on in the first round," Wojnarowski said.

The latest word on Bronny's NBA future makes some sense.

Bronny probably shouldn't limit himself to wherever his father might be. Furthermore, if getting together is something they both want, it would be far easier for LeBron, who can potentially become a free agency this summer, to go where Bronny is rather than hoping the team he's with lands him in the draft.
