With the Chicago Bulls missing several key pieces for extended periods, the team would do well to replenish its arsenal with additional talent. According to a recent report, one potential target for the Bulls is veteran sharpshooter Joe Harris.

Waived by Detroit

The 32-year-old was recently waived by the Detroit Pistons this season after playing in only 16 games. He was hardly effective on the floor, averaging 2.4 points on 35 percent shooting, including a brutal 33 percent from long distance. Recent history, though, suggests that a change of scenery and more opportunities might spark a revival for the 10-year pro.

The Bulls may provide Harris with both minutes and open shots. With DeMar DeRozan and Coby White constantly attacking the paint and Nikola Vucevic and Andre Drummond crowding the lane, Harris could be a valuable floor spacer for the Bulls' offense. He's a career 43 percent three-point shooter and has proven deadly when left open.

Bulls interested?

According to Bulls insider K.C. Johnson, Chicago’s front office is evaluating the talent on the buyout market at the moment. Harris is one of a few candidates the Bulls may be considering, reported Johnson.

Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley adds that despite Harris’ struggles this season, his body of work offers intriguing upside. The Bulls could offer Harris an opportunity to revitalize his career and contribute to a playoff push.

“He'd previously been one of the top shooters of the past half-decade. Between the 2017-18 and 2022-23 seasons, he averaged 2.4 three-pointers per game on 44.6 percent shooting,” Buckley said.
