Report: Jamal Crawford replacing Dwyane Wade for TNT's NBA coverage

It was reported earlier this month that retired Miami Heat icon Dwyane Wade had elected to leave Turner Sports and TNT's coverage of the NBA to focus on other opportunities and ventures.

Turner didn't have to wait until the start of the 2022-23 season to find Wade's replacement.

According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, former pro guard Jamal Crawford will succeed Wade for TNT’s Tuesday night NBA studio team that includes basketball legends Shaquille O’Neal and Candace Parker. Adam Lefkoe serves as the host.

Crawford logged regular-season appearances with nine teams from 2000 through the 2019-20 season and earned NBA Sixth Man of the Year honors on three occasions. According to the Basketball-Reference website, the 42-year-old is 62nd on the all-time scoring list with 19,419 career points, including stats from the old American Basketball Association.

Per The Athletic, Crawford confirmed in March that he was retiring as an active player. "Goodbye to the game, all the spoils the adrenaline rush," he wrote in a tweet at that time. "Thank you basketball, I owe you everything."

The previously mentioned Wade spent three years with TNT, and the split between the parties reportedly was amicable. Marchand added in his piece that Wade wishes to concentrate on other matters, such as his part ownership of the Utah Jazz.

TNT did not offer a comment for Marchand's story.
