According to NBA insider Tony Jones of The Athletic, the Utah Jazz will not trade scoring guard Jordan Clarkson.

Clarkson is making $23.5 million this season.

Clarkson is averaging 17.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.1 blocks this season while shooting 41.7% from the field, 28.8% from beyond the arc and 87.3% from the free-throw line. He’s appeared in 42 games.

The Jazz are 26-26 on the season. They are in 10th place in the Western Conference standings. If the season ended today, Utah would be in the NBA play-in tournament.

Clarkson signed a two-year, $28.4 million extension with the Jazz last summer. He’ll make $14.1 million next season and $14.3 million in 2025-26.

The 31-year-old Clarkson has career averages of 16.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks with the Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Jazz. He won the 2020-21 Sixth Man of the Year Award with Utah.

The New York Knicks were interested in acquiring Clarkson from the Jazz, but the Knicks wound up trading for Detroit Pistons veterans Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic.

Clarkson has appeared in 292 games with the Jazz. He’s averaging 17.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.2 blocks with Utah.
