Report: Nate Bjorkgren's future with Pacers uncertain due to issues with players, staff

Indiana Pacers head coach Nate Bjorkgren's future with the franchise is uncertain amid a season of difficulties with players and staff, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

"Bjorkgren has significant work to do with his relationships among players throughout the team and with some members of the organization, but he has thus far shown a willingness to try to address those issues, sources said," Wojnarowski writes.

Bjorkgren's style of coaching and communication, on the court, in the locker room and in individual settings, has "often been the root of team turmoil this season," Wojnarowski adds.

Bjorkgren has one more guaranteed year on his contract with the Pacers, and his future with the franchise is expected to be addressed after the season. The 45-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Pacers after working as an assistant for the Toronto Raptors from 2018-2020.

The Pacers are ninth in the Eastern Conference with a 30-34 record after finishing fourth last season. Indiana is in jeopardy of missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2014-15 campaign.
