Report: Nets at top of James Harden's trade list

With the news that Russell Westbrook wants out of the Houston Rockets organization, it's really no surprise that James Harden has begun to weigh his future with the team.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Ramona Shelburne and Zach Lowe, Harden reportedly prefers to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets. Being reunited with Kevin Durant and joining Kyrie Irving is "resonating" with the three-time scoring champion.

Wojnarowski adds that the Rockets plan to keep Harden on board for the 2020-21 season, and the team has not had trade discussions with the Nets.

The news comes after Westbrook made his intentions of moving on from the Rockets very clear. Both Westbrook and Harden also reportedly have become concerned about the future of the organization after Daryl Morey resigned as the team's general manager and Mike D'Antoni said he wouldn't return as head coach.

It's not surprising that Harden is intrigued by the possibility of teaming up with Durant. The duo, and Westbrook, helped lead the Thunder to the NBA Finals during the 2011-12 campaign. Durant and Harden were teammates in Oklahoma City for three seasons.

If Harden did join Brooklyn this season, Steve Nash's squad would be the undoubted favorite to win the Eastern Conference and challenge the Los Angeles Lakers in the West.
