A title-contending squad like the Milwaukee Bucks can never have too many floor-spacers and playmakers. With superstars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard manning possessions, having reliable and lethal shooters playing alongside them will provide adequate space for the two to operate. And that’s exactly where Phoenix Suns guard Eric Gordon comes in.

Veteran shotmaker

With defenses expected to collapse on Giannis and Lillard nightly, Gordon’s spot-up shooting and off-ball movement would be a perfect fit. A proven three-level scorer with a career success rate of 37 percent from beyond the arc, the veteran wingman could be a superb perimeter weapon for Milwaukee.

“Gordon is slightly smaller than Burks, but he's likely the more reliable defender. And his way-beyond-the-three-point-line range and 38.9 three-point percentage over the last three seasons would make it harder for defenses to collapse on Giannis' drives,” Andy Bailey wrote in Bleacher Report.

Limited resources

One thing that can hinder Milwaukee’s pursuit of Gordon, or any other free agent, is their limited spending resources. The Bucks are pegged not to have much cap space this offseason, which may not be enough to sign a big-name free agent like Eric. However, the Bucks could consider other worthwhile free agents like Alec Burks and Jae'Sean Tate.

Burks, currently with the New York Knicks, could shore up the Bucks’ guard rotation by adding another shotmaker off the bench.

“Burks is past his prime. He turns 33 in July, but that also means he might be in the ring-chasing phase of his career. And few teams offer more upside for ring-chasers than one with Giannis Antetokounmpo. Plus, the Milwaukee Bucks could use some wings, especially in light of all the injuries Khris Middleton has dealt with in recent years,” Bailey remarked.
