Report: Stephen Curry to sign four-year, $215 million extension with Warriors
At this rate, Stephen Curry will likely play his entire career in the Bay Area.
According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, Stephen Curry is expected to sign a four-year, $215 million extension with the Golden State Warriors this summer.
The expectation for months has been that the two-time MVP would sign a new deal with the Warriors this summer. The extension would begin in 2022-23 and keep Curry with the Warriors through the 2025-26 season.
Curry just completed arguably the best season of his career, finishing third in MVP voting after scoring a league-leading 32 points per game to go along with 5.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game while shooting 48.2% from the field and 42.1% from deep.
The seven-time All-Star has led Golden State to three NBA titles since being drafted seventh overall in 2009 and has also led the league in scoring twice.
The Warriors are expected to compete for an NBA title this coming season with a top-notch Curry, healthy Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
Golden State is also reportedly expected to add a "starting-caliber player in his prime" this summer to win Curry and the Warriors' veterans another title.
If Curry wins another title before he retires, he'll join some pretty elite company with four championships, including LeBron James, Robert Parish and Manu Ginobili.
