The Charlotte Hornets have reached agreement with their restricted free agent Cody Martin on a four-year deal worth $32 million, The Athletic and The Charlotte Observer reported Saturday.

Martin, 26, is regarded as one of the Hornets' best defenders. He also averaged a career-best 7.7 points per game in 71 games (11 starts) for Charlotte in 2021-22. His minutes jumped to a career-best 26.3 per game.

The small forward is averaging 5.8 points and 3.5 rebounds in 171 career games (24 starts) since the Hornets selected him in the second round of the 2019 draft.
