Former Los Angeles Lakers legend Robert Horry's son will stay in the area for college. Robert's son, Christian Horry, will remain in Los Angeles to play basketball for UCLA.
Christan, a six-foot-two shooting guard, has committed to join UCLA, where he will be a walk-on. The high school senior attends the local Harvard Westlake.
Robert congratulated his son on social media following Christian's announcement.
"Congratulations Christian Horry," Robert said on X. "Ever since you were a kid you wanted to to go to UCLA. One dream accomplished, many more to go. Keep up the hard work on and off the court. Love you little Bruin."
Robert Horry played for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1997-2003, winning three of his seven NBA championships with the Lakers, alongside Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. During his best statistical season with the Lakers from 1997-1998, Robert averaged 7.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
Outside of his time with the Lakers, Robert also played for the Houston Rockets from 1992-1996, for the Phoenix Suns from 1996-1997 and the San Antonio Spurs from 2003-2008. Robert is one of the few players in NBA history to have won seven NBA championships, having won multiple trophies with the Rockets, Lakers and Spurs.
Now, Robert gets to watch his son Christian reach the next step of his basketball career at UCLA.
