Well, it appears that nothing has changed just because Dillon Brooks is with the Rockets this season.

Just like last year when Brooks was with the Grizzlies, he isn’t holding back when it comes to his confidence about defending (or trying to defend) LeBron James

And guess what?

James and the Lakers visit Brooks and the Rockets on Wednesday. The Lakers (3-4) have yet to win on the road in four tries. But Brooks may have provided them with some extra incentive.

“Ready to lock him up,” Brooks told reporters when asked about James. “He’s been shooting the ball well, he’s been playing well. So I’m just there to make him tired, make him get into that fourth quarter early.”

Brooks became a free agent at the end of last season and the Grizzlies pulled an NBA first by announcing they wouldn’t be re-signing him. A lot of that likely had to do with his antics, which not only led to incidents with James, but multiple others throughout the league.

Still, the Rockets (3-3) already look better this season than last, particularly defensively. Brooks undoubtedly has a hand in that.

But lock up LeBron? It’s OK to think it if you are tasked with defending him. But only Brooks will come right out and say it.
