Rockets reveal new City Edition jerseys, pay homage to former home in San Diego
The Houston Rockets are looking to their past in order to "propel" forward.
The Rockets are the latest NBA team to reveal new City Edition uniforms for the upcoming 2022-2023 campaign, following in the footsteps of the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns (among others) who've recently made announcements. Unlike the Warriors and Suns, yet similar to the Lakers, the Rockets are going back to their roots with the new jerseys.
The franchise started in 1967 in San Diego and called "America's Finest City" their home for just four seasons. Wednesday's announcement comes just one day after Houston celebrated their 186th birthday.
The Rockets will open their season at 7:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 19 on the road against the Atlanta Hawks.
