Rudy Gobert on fan who delayed game: 'He was smiling and throwing up at the same time.'
The Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz sat through an unusual delay Saturday night when a fan sitting courtside vomited on the floor during a fourth quarter timeout. After the game, Jazz center Rudy Gobert described his odd interaction with the fan, who was sitting near the Utah bench.
The ensuing clean up caused a more than 10-minute delay with even the Kings mascot, Slamson the Lion, helping clean up the mess.
Utah was on a 12-2 run and had a 96-82 lead at the time of the delay. When play restarted, the Jazz didn't lose any momentum and continued to pull away from the Kings for a 123-105 victory.
''That was a strange situation,'' Jazz coach Quin Snyder said, via NBA.com. ''We had gone on a pretty good run before that happened. We did a good job of keeping or concentration throughout.''
The Jazz improved to 11-5 and currently sit third in the Western Conference standings. The Kings fell to 6-11.
